I’m sitting at my desk and just typing. Why you ask?
Well, it’s an exercise in allowing Spirit to flow through me.
Too often I try and “guess” what it is that I need to do or say to best serve you. The Truth is that God knows exactly what I should be doing and saying and he is reminding me that all I have to do is get out on my way and allow Him to work through me.
Sound familiar? You are not alone and that’s why I’m just typing.
All of us go through that “guessing game” at one time or another. It’s when we have forgotten that God is always present in all of our activities and ready, willing and able to guide, direct and illume our way. It’s when we have allowed the physical world with all its trials and tribulations to overwhelm us. It’s when we attempt to live separate from the Truth.
So, having said that… what steps do we take to stay in the flow?
First things first… Be Still. Be still. Be still.
Jesus often went “…apart to pray…” Sometimes he went off by himself and other times, according to gospel, he took the disciples with him. What is this telling us?
For me this says that I don’t have to attempt to solve problems alone. Sure there will be times when I want to talk directly with God. However, there are other times when it’s important to be with my brothers and sisters in Christ as we work together in this communion. This activity of praying together strengthens me, enlightens me, illumines me and it will strengthen, enlighten and illumine you as well.
Yes! Take time to pray and mediate by yourself. Also, take time to pray and mediate with your family. Include both your “blood” relations and those of us who constitute your spiritual family as well.
Lovingly in His service,
Rob
