Original Thought? Not!

Original Thought? Not!

The other day I was reading and preparing for a lesson I was giving later that evening and all of a sudden it occurred to me, "Rob, you've never had an original thought in your life!" And I was right, and happy to be so. Even as I wrote those words the thought came... that's strange... How could someone who writes, teaches and speaks about living Life abundantly never have an original thought?

It really rather simple. I am in tune with and in touch with those principles which are constant and unchanging. They are the same principles what have been taught throughout time. The words may differ in the description of these Truths, but they remain constant and unchanging. Therefore that which I know to be the Truth of me is also constant and unchanging. My experiences may change. My perception may change. My thinking may change. However, the "original" principle remains constant. And that is what I share with you as other have shared with me.

I used the word "simple" on purpose. In this day and age you and I have the tendency to attempt to make things in our Life way too complicated. In complication comes stress; in stress comes anxiety; in anxiety comes overwhelm and this spiral moves you away from knowing the Truth of you.

Let's explore some ways to simplify your life.

1. Start small, break large tasks down into small to-do items. Don’t burn yourself out. Remember, this is about simplifying.

2. Plan your life. When you figure out what you want, you need to form a plan to get it. Most people spend more time planning a one week vacation then they do planning their life. Write it down. You won’t be able to accomplish it if you can’t remember what needs to be done.

3. Take time for you. You will be a better parent and spouse and all around happier when you put self-care practices into place. A major self-care practice is prayer and meditation. I've learned that taking 6 minutes (10% of an hour... Hummmmm... but that's another article) or more of each hour to pray and meditate increases my productivity and keeps me focused on that which I want in my Life.

Care to add to the list? It doesn't have to be "original" {grin}

In His service,
Rob
