So you have a purpose... Now what?

You've probably read the statement "Finding your purpose is a crucial first element to success." So having spent some time in reflection, contemplation and meditation you have a notion of what your purpose might be.. now what?

Now, my friend, you can begin to establish a clear mental picture or vision of that which you desire. Proverbs 29:18 says "Where there is no vision, the people perish." Certainly don't want to perish, do you?

So how do you clarify your vision?

First, you need to narrow your perspective. There are many parts to the whole expression of your purpose. Start with one section and work from there. It's not wise to "ride off in all directions at once," so to speak. Think about what it is you are looking for in this moment, so you'll know it when it appears.

Next, locate and choose an opportunity (business, career or job) which you feel is right for you--which will fulfill your purpose and therefore expand your vision.

Many people get stuck right here. "What if I choose the wrong (business, career or job)?" So rather than choose they sat put. I have others who tell me that they are waiting for an indication they are on the right path.

Here's a hint: If you're breathing, you're on the right path. Now start moving on it! Not making a decision is making the decision not to decide.

Look at several possibilities first and study the things which each one offers and evaluate the potential of each one as you see it. Discuss these choices with a coach or mentor. Move on the one which you feel has the most potential in this moment.

Once you have chosen your field of endeavor, stand behind it in every way and don't quit or change your mind. For many years I put pieces of my purpose to work in a variety of occupations seeking the one vocation that truly fulfilled me. As I look back upon it I discovered that each step of the way was designed to expand my ability to fully express my purpose in all areas of my Life.

Think of yourself as being in it for the long haul, no matter what. Hold the vision, based on what you know, how things will be down the road. Keep that picture before your mind, and never doubt the wonder of the Truth working in and through you.

In Hebrews 11:1 we read "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Napoleon Hill used these words "What the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve"

When the vision stemming from your clarification of purpose is firmly implanted in your mind, allow it to be your driving force. Let your vision excite you with the possibility of fulfillment and you will automatically take the next step. Know that you are never alone on your journey. At each step, ask. And it shall be given you.
